Webinar: Toward a Hygienic Environment for Infants and Young Children: A Review

Summary

On April 5, USAID held a webinar to discuss findings from the recent report from the USAID-funded WASHPaLS Project, "Toward a Hygienic Environment for Infants and Young Children: A Review of the Literature."

The webinar describes the findings of this review of the scientific and grey literature to capture the state of knowledge of the health risks to infants and young children from fecal exposure in their home environments, focusing on historically underemphasized sources and transmission pathways not disrupted by the traditional suite of WASH measures. In this webinar, Julia Rosenbaum, along with Jeff Albert present highlights from the desk review, share key lessons for implementers, and share the project’s next steps in this area. One of the chief authors of the report, Francis Ngure, was unable to attended due to connectivity problems in Tanzania.
