Support for Urban Water and Sanitation in India (SUWASI) Activity Brief

This brief, developed by USAID’s Support for Urban Water and Sanitation in India (SUWASI) Activity, shares a high-level overview of how USAID has supported India’s water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) achievements since 2015. It begins with a look at India’s water and sanitation journey thus far and India’s urban WASH landscape. The brief then presents the results framework, goals, partners, work, and achievements of SUWASI, including how it has facilitated and promoted technology start-ups in WASH. One key achievement of the activity has been support for a Google toilet locator and QR code-based citizen feedback system that helped map 67,407 public toilets across 3,326 cities on Google.
