The financial impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic crisis have impacted water utilities in Africa, including drastically reducing revenues in the short-term and slowing investments in the long-term, increasing operational costs, and dramatically impacting the ability of front-line water utility staff to stay safe and productive.
This case study, part of the Lesson Learned Series by African Ministers' Council on Water (AMCOW) and Water for Africa Through Leadership and Institutional Support (WALIS), highlights how two USAID projects (WALIS and WASH-FIN) supported African water service providers to assess the financial impact of COVID-19 response measures in Zambia and Kenya.
