Activity Description

The USAID Expanding Water and Sanitation Project (USAID Expanding WASH) facilitates the provision of reliable and sustainable water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) services to improve household economic and health outcomes and thereby contribute to rural poverty reduction. The purpose of USAID Expanding WASH is to professionalize services, to promote accountability for reliable and high-quality WASH services, and to enhance the enabling environment for private sector engagement in service delivery in Zambia.

Activity Objectives

  • Institutionalize market-based WASH service delivery and build financially sustainable and inclusive management models.
  • Increased accountability of WASH service providers, policymakers, and civic leaders.
  • Increased private sector participation.
