Activity Description

The Enhancing Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (En-WASH) Activity facilitates access to and utilization of sustainable water, sanitation, and hygiene services. It aims to enhance access to financing and bolster governance across 30 districts spanning six regions in Ghana—Northern, North-East, Oti, Savannah, Upper East, and Upper West.

Activity Objectives

Utilizing a systems-strengthening approach, En-WASH:

  • Collaborates with the Government of Ghana (facilitated by the Metropolitan, Municipal, District Assemblies (MMDAs)) to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of planning, budgeting, implementation, and monitoring of water and sanitation services.
  • Collaborates with MMDAs and other stakeholders to enhance the conducive environment for private sector involvement in the WASH sector.

All strategies are meticulously crafted to jointly prioritize, allocate funds towards, and implement initiatives with the Government of Ghana, aiming to achieve crucial behavioral changes and outcomes while ensuring long-term sustainability.
