DESUWACO supplies water to over two million Nigerians in Delta state. The utility employs 445 people, but only 15 percent are women. When women serve as leaders and employees, businesses benefit and company performance improves.
Despite the evidence demonstrating women’s value in the workforce, women continue to encounter structural barriers to participate in the world economy, particularly in industries traditionally dominated by men.
