Webinar: H2O Maghreb – Providing Innovative Training for Young Water Professionals

Mitigating water scarcity is a national priority in Morocco, where a growing population, rapid urbanization, and developing economy are increasing the country’s demand for water.

In order to tackle the key problem of unsustainable water management practices in Morocco and the Maghreb/Middle East and North Africa region, the USAID–supported H2O Maghreb project is addressing the root causes of the problem: lack of knowledge of the current and future skills gaps and employment opportunities, lack of industry professionals with skills in the latest water management technologies, and lack of replication of best practices.

On Wednesday, October 2, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) hosted this presentation to discuss the project,  which is a public-private partnership initiative that aims to improve industrial and municipal water management practices in an inclusive and sustainable way. The objectives of the webinar are to:

• Inform participants about the H2O Maghreb program
• Discuss the relevance of working on education/training in the water sector for other regions
• Identify areas of mutual interest to replicate the project
