In emerging markets, there is a significant gap in access to water and sanitation services. Mobile technology, with its almost ubiquitous presence and coverage is uniquely placed to help address this problem.
GSMA spoke to past and present grantees of the Mobile for Development Utilities Innovation Fund—CityTaps, Loowatt and Wonderkid, at World Water Week 2018 in Stockholm about what they are doing to solve the access gap and what the future of these sectors holds.
