Global Handwashing Day Annual Event 2023

Global Handwashing Day provides an important platform to accelerate hand hygiene progress at a systems level. The 2023 theme, “Clean hands are within reach,” highlights that everyone has a role to play to address critical gaps and meet global hand hygiene targets.

This virtual event, hosted by USAID partner, Global Handwashing Partnership, provides an ideal platform for global partners, country representatives, and other stakeholders to come together to share their experiences in strengthening global- and national-level hand hygiene efforts. Event objectives include:

• Highlight new and existing commitments from global leaders
• Share examples from countries at multiple levels of hand hygiene progress, focusing on challenges, lessons learned, and proposed actions to sustain progress
• Make the case for long-term hand hygiene financing to support countries in achieving universal hand hygiene
