Awareness Rising on the Use of Constructed Wetlands for Wastewater Treatment in Rwanda: Project Report to the African Water Association

Summary

The current report recapitulates the results from the project that was conducted by the Rwanda Young Water Professionals in partnership with RENGOF titled “Awareness rising on the use of constructed wetlands (CW) for wastewater treatment in Rwanda.” This project was in line with the Further Advancing the Blue Revolution Initiative (FABRI), initiated by AfWA and funded by USAID.

The main objective of the project in Rwanda was to raise awareness on the use of CWs and to encourage the choice of CWs technology by the public, private sector, government’s agencies, NGOs and other interested parties. In particular, the focus was on secondary schools, hotels, restaurants, prisons, high learning institution representatives as a target pilot group for using CWs techniques.
