The Sanitation Economy Opportunity for South Africa

The Water Research Commission and the Toilet Board Coalition have come together to identify the business opportunities in the Sanitation Economy specific to Africa.

The sanitation challenge in South Africa is ongoing, dealing with rampant inequities, the legacy of apartheid, and the new perils of nature in the form of climate change. The current norms in sanitation technology in the form of high flush toilets are not sustainable in the future, in terms of both water and sanitation security.
