In the Philippines, USAID empowers local leaders to deliver safe water services in rural communities. With USAID support, Nora Panapanaan and other officers of the Ambulong Rural Waterworks and Sanitation Association have been able to effectively manage their small-scale water utility. This work has helped ensure residents always have access to clean water. The association now provides clean, safe water to 873 households, a 20-percent increase from 2013. They are also reaping the benefits of efficiency, increasing net income by 89 percent in 2020.
