USAID/Ghana has released the Ghana Health Program Annual Program Statement which includes water, sanitation and hygiene. Local partners are strongly encouraged to submit concept papers in response to this statement.

The Government of Ghana is making substantial strides to expand WASH services coverage to vulnerable populations across Ghana as part of its commitment to universal access to WASH by 2030. There are significant gaps in financing of WASH service expansion and, to date, private sector engagement remains constrained. Challenges exist in reaching vulnerable and hard to reach subpopulations and mobilizing private domestic resources to financing expansion. USAID envisions providing assistance to local organizations that will strengthen Ghana’s WASH activities through targeted assistance to public and private sector service providers. USAID envisions successful concepts will strengthen targeted efforts to mobilize non-traditional private sector partners in Ghana to contribute to WASH service coverage outcomes. The intent is to mobilize private resources to accelerate WASH service expansion and behavioral change where there are gaps in access, utilization, and quality.
