With support from USAID, the World Food Program (WFP) is distributing Cash to food insecure people Southern Malawi to buy food in the local markets. As prevention measures for COVID-19, the beneficiaries are called only in small groups and are asked to wash hands with soap before and after receiving entitlements. In addition, workers in charge of the distributions use protective masks and gloves. Photo credit: WFP/Badre Bahaji (https://flic.kr/p/2iSHM8k)

WASH & COVID-19 Resources

Reliable access to safe water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) protects lives during the pandemic, and provides a foundation for economic recovery while preventing new infections. USAID is helping to mitigate the economic impact of COVID-19 on water and sanitation systems, protect progress, and support speed recovery. During this global pandemic, the Globalwaters.org team will share the latest resources from USAID and select sectors that cover COVID-19 and WASH.
