Citizen Journalists: Shining a Light on Water Management in Armenia

Mane Minasyan lives in Vedi, a small town in the heart of the Ararat Valley in the west of Armenia. At 19, she is raising awareness of groundwater depletion and prompting behavior change in her community. Mane received her investigative journalism training from USAID’s Participatory Utilization and Resources Efficiency of Water (PURE Water) project, which is working to increase water productivity, efficiency, and quality in the Ararat Valley by enhancing citizen participation in water resources management.

Multiple-Use Water Services : Close-Out Report

The Niger Multiple-Use Water Services project, implemented from November 15, 2008 to December 3, 2010, improved the access of rural communities to water for drinking and productive uses through the installation water services (rope pumps, treadle pumps and the rehabilitation of traditional wells) and capacity building. The project also promoted hygiene and productive use livelihood activities such as gardens and fisheries. The project focused on communities in the Zinder Region, Departments of Kantché and Magaria, and Communes of Matameye, Doungou, Ichirnawa, Bandé, and Magaria

This report is an evaluation of Jenga Jamaa,  a Multi-Year Assistance Program carried out over a three-year period (June 2008–May 2011) and implemented by the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) International. It ipartnered with Africare under a cooperative agreement to reduce food insecurity among vulnerable populations in Fizi and Uvira territories in South Kivu province of the eastern Democratic Republic Congo (DRC).
