Strengthening Ethiopia`s Urban Health Program

To address health challenges related to rapid urbanization, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID)-supported Strengthening Ethiopia’s Urban Health Program (SEUHP) will promote urban health leadership and provide capacity building support in cities and towns across seven regions in Ethiopia. SEUHP extends the commitment of the previous USAID/Urban Health Extension Program (USAID/UHEP) by providing the Government of Ethiopia (GoE), civil society partners, and urban communities of Ethiopia with cost-effective, high quality, and appropriately targeted support and services.

ISDP aims to provide support for creating sustainable, strong health care facilities in Ezo, and Yambio counties that will improve quality of services and access, especially for women and children.

USAID/DFID Health Pool Fund

The South Sudan Health Pooled Fund provides hundreds of thousands of citizens, especially women and children, with quality healthcare, delivering services across 80% of South Sudan.

They lead a consortium working with the government to strengthen its capacity to deliver health services on its own, with funding from DFID, USAID, the EU, Canada and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).

Tuberculosis CARE1

Challenge TB (CTB) is a five year global United States Agency for International Development (USAID)- funded project implemented by the CTB partnership with KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation (KNCV) as the prime. The project builds and expands upon previous USAID tuberculosis (TB) prevention and treatment efforts. As the lead partner for the CTB project in Mozambique, FHI 360 provides technical leadership to the project, ensuring coordination, management and monitoring of the project activities at the country level.

Sustaining Health Outcomes through Private Sector +

Sustaining Health Outcomes through the Private Sector (SHOPS) Plus is USAID’s flagship initiative in private sector health. The project seeks to harness the full potential of the private sector and catalyze public-private engagement to improve health outcomes in family planning, HIV, child health, and other health areas. SHOPS Plus supports the achievement of US government priorities, including ending preventable child and maternal deaths, an AIDS-free generation, and FP2020. The project improves the equity and quality of the total health system.

Uganda Sanitation for Health Activity

Uganda remains one of the world’s poorest countries, with almost a quarter of the population living on less than USD$1.25 a day. Economic and human development in Uganda is inhibited by inadequate sanitary conditions at households, schools, and health centers, which cost the country the equivalent of USD$177 million per year in lost productivity and medical costs, according to The Water and Sanitation Program.

Collaborative Support for Health Program

The USAID Collaborative Support for Health (CSH) Program supports the Government of Liberia’s objectives of strengthening management and governance of the health system to consistently and effectively deliver quality health and social welfare services. CSH supports the Ministry of Health (MOH)
by providing embedded technical support at the national level and to County Health Teams in USAID
priority counties of Bong, Lofa, and Nimba. CSH focuses on priority areas aligned with the Government
