This report is an evaluation of Jenga Jamaa, a Multi-Year Assistance Program carried out over a three-year period (June 2008–May 2011) and implemented by the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) International.
Following repeated large-scale humanitarian emergencies in the Sahel Region USAID recognized that continuing to treat these recurrent crises as acute emergencies is extremely costly and does not effectively address their underlying causes.
Nepal Flood Recovery Program (NFRP) is an USAID/Nepal initiative to respond to substantial damage caused by heavy flooding of 2007 and 2008 in a number of Terai districts of Nepal. The implementation work began in May 2008 through FINTRAC Inc.
In September 2010, USAID and our international partners provided logistical, financial, and technical support for Pakistan and its people in the aftermath of severe flooding caused by overwhelming monsoon rains.
In Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, thousands of families lost their homes as a result of flooding in 2010. USAID provided insulated shelters to more than 1,600 of the most vulnerable families in the wake of the disaster.
