Water @ Wilson: 50 Years of Water, Conflict, and Cooperation (Live Stream)

On the occasion of the Wilson Center's 50^th anniversary, its Environmental Change and Security Program and nine co-sponsoring programs convened experts on November 28 from government, the NGO sector, and academia for a comprehensive look at the first year of the U.S. Government Global Water Strategy and new research and practice on water, peace, and conflict.

The event featured three panel discussions, along with opening keynote remarks from USAID Acting Global Water Coordinator James Peters, who said, “At the core of our contributions to the strategy is strengthening governance and institutions and mobilizing innovative financing to help partner countries provide their citizens with affordable, equitable, and sustainable access to safe water and sanitation."

Panels included: Raging Waters: The New Face of Water Conflicts (featured on this page); The Future of Water Peace; and Oceans of Cooperation.
