Webinar Slides for COVID-19 and WASH: What We Know and What's Next

Summary

Water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) is intricately connected to the COVID-19 pandemic. While WASH is essential for both prevention and recovery, the impacts of COVID-19 have created new challenges to accessing these services. Ensuring global water security in this new reality will require a clear understanding of how of COVID-19 is changing the global WASH landscape and how the WASH sector can best adapt to these changes.

This event on March 11 presented new findings from USAID’s research on the impacts of COVID-19 on WASH across seven countries and provided additional perspectives and findings from donors, advocates, and experts in the field. Presenters from USAID, UNICEF, the World Bank and WaterAID shared reflections on the impacts of COVID-19 on WASH services and how those insights can help shape future approaches to support a water secure world.
