Water security, hygiene, and sanitation (WASH) is essential in the fight against COVID-19, from emergency response to recovery and long-term resilience to shocks like this pandemic. Reliable water and sanitation services in health facilities, households, markets, and communities are critical to maintaining hygiene and preventing the spread of the virus. In addition, WASH services are at risk of being disrupted by the outbreak, the response to it, and its downstream effects.
