Compendium of Hydrologic Reports: Negros Occidental
Summary
The Compendium of Hydrologic Reports for Negros Occidental covers 15 watersheds in the Negros Occidental province in the Philippines. It provides information on potential available surface water, groundwater recharge volumes (under the 2020 and 2050 climate change scenarios), and locations of high recharge zones within each watershed. These hydrologic studies, produced by USAID Safe Water, can be used to:
- prioritize areas for reforestation or protection by focusing on areas with the highest groundwater recharge potential;
- improve long-term planning by matching permitting of water resource use with available resources; and
- increase sustainability of water use through the strategic shift from depleted groundwater sources to surface water sources.
