CLTS Foundation

The CLTS Foundation was formed by the pioneer of CLTS, Dr. Kamal Kar, to meet the growing demand for a common global platform for capacity building of key sanitation actors, developing knowledge products, assessment tools of CLTS and policy advocacy. Its mission is to strive towards creation of a world free from open defecation by means of collective behaviour change of the empowered local communities through capacity building, providing technical support and influencing national strategies and policies of the countries. The Foundation also undertakes research and action learning initiatives focused towards poverty reduction, rural and urban livelihoods and governance issues with CLTS as an entry point strategy.
