Feed the Future Senegal Yaajeende

The food security situation in Senegal in 2013, illustrated by the Global Hunger Index (GHI) score of 13.8, was characterized by the International Food Policy Institute (IFPRI) as “serious.” 2 This situation is all the more serious in that, at 13.7 in 2005, the country’s GHI score has remained unchanged for nearly a decade. Food insecurity in Senegal affects between 15.6 and 24 percent of the population, with higher numbers concentrated in the northern and eastern rural regions.

Responsive Governance Project

RGP was designed to strengthen government institutions at the national and local levels to help them improve the delivery of public services while encouraging more citizen participation in the political process. The program is also intended to facilitate more equitable socioeconomic development by strengthening public policies and institutions that will contribute to helping to mitigate key drivers of instability in Yemen.
