This year's Global Entrepreneurship Congress (GEC) was held in Johannesburg, South Africa, from March 13-17, 2017.
As part of the GEC, Securing Water for Food (SWFF) and its partners participated in the Global Agripreneurs Summit, where innovators not only demostrated their products, but also networked with financial backers and implementing organizations that might spur their development and allow them to achieve impact at scale. SWFF also discussed the Fourth Global Call for Innovations, which sought environmentally and financially sustainable innovations benefitting women and the poor. Individual awards will range between $100,000 USD and $2 million USD.
SWFF is an initiative backed by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID); Sweden through the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida); the Foreign Ministry of the Kingdom of the Netherlands; and the Government of South Africa.
